In Panama A Contingency Plan Has Been Activated For Kidney Patients In Colón -

(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) The Social Security Fund (CSS) reported that it has adopted urgent measures to ensure the restoration of care for hemodialysis patients at the Kidney Patient Care Center (CAIPIR) in the province of Colón. The decision came after a group of patients and family members blocked the Panama-Colón highway on Tuesday to protest the malfunction of a machine essential for their treatment. Following this demonstration, a meeting was held between the patients, representatives of the company responsible for equipment maintenance, and the Institutional Directorate of the CSS in Colón.

As a result, the implementation of a contingency plan was agreed upon , which includes cleaning the osmosis tank - which supplies water to the equipment-and extending service hours. In addition, the CSS announced that it will inspect the supplier company, Davita, to ensure it complies with its contractual obligations and implements the necessary measures to improve the pumping system and filling of the osmosis tank at this medical facility. It should be noted that the first shift at the CAIPIR was temporarily suspended on Tuesday morning due to failures in the external drinking water supply system, which prevented the osmosis tank from being supplied. This plan is expected to ensure continuous patient care during the center's three daily shifts.
