OIC Health Ministers Eye Greater Coop. Amid Talks

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, Oct 8 (KUNA) -- Health ministers from Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states gathered in the Jordanian capital on Wednesday for routine talks aiming to ratchet up healthcare cooperation within the Jeddah-based bloc.
The talks, the first such gathering after the COVID pandemic, aim to bolster healthcare cooperation among Arab and Islamic countries, Kuwait's ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom Hamad Al-Meri told KUNA, citing these meetings as instrumental in building resilient healthcare systems.
The Kuwaiti envoy lamented the situation in the Gaza Strip, where two years' worth of Israeli occupation attacks have left the healthcare system there in ruin, calling for the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian enclave.
Highlighting the critical juncture at which the talks are taking place, Jordanian Health Minister Ibrahim Al-Budour emphasized that Amman would continue to do its utmost to ensure that healthcare ties within the bloc remain on an upward trajectory. (end)
