NASA Space Apps Challenge Concludes At JUST

Ramtha, Oct. 8 (Petra) – The NASA International Space Apps Challenge concluded on Wednesday at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), with broad participation from university and school students across Jordan.
The competition was organized by the university's Center of Excellence for Creative Projects (CEIP), in cooperation with a group of creative students and several partners from the academic and private sectors. It forms part of the university's efforts to foster innovation and support entrepreneurial student initiatives.
During the closing ceremony, JUST Vice President Muna Abu Dalo affirmed the university's commitment to embracing projects and initiatives that enhance students' creative thinking and teamwork skills.
She said that organizing such events reflects the university's dedication to providing a stimulating educational environment that promotes excellence and innovation, and opens wide horizons for Jordanian youth to contribute to future technological solutions addressing global challenges.
Over three days, the competition brought together more than 200 students forming around 40 teams, who developed innovative projects and solutions using NASA data and research in areas such as environmental sustainability and space exploration. The Orion team won first place, followed by the Procyon team in second, and the Raymark team in third.
The judging panel included a group of experts and specialists from the technology, innovation, and academic sectors, representing national institutions, universities, and private companies.
The NASA International Space Apps Challenge is one of the world's leading scientific events in the fields of space, technology, and environmental innovation. It aims to employ data science and modern technologies to develop creative solutions addressing challenges on Earth and in space. Winning teams will represent JUST in the global final stage, organized by NASA, with participation from teams worldwide.
