Egyptian Pres.: Gaza Ceasefire Negotiations Encouraging


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Oct 8 (KUNA) -- President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi said on Wednesday that the Gaza ceasefire negotiations, currently taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh, were "encouraging", hoping that it would conclude with a deal allowing for humanitarian aid entry and the withdrawal of Israeli occupation troops.
Speaking to an officers' graduation ceremony in Cairo, President Al-Sisi affirmed that Egypt was intensively working on ending the war in the Gaza Strip.
He commended US President Donald Trump's efforts to end the war via sending a delegation for the negotiations in Sharm El-Sheikh, which would hopefully lead to positive outcomes.
He expressed hopes that Qatari, US, Israeli occupation, and Hamas negotiators would reach a deal and end the war.
Al-Sisi said that the world was interested in ending the war in Gaza to allow the region to rebuild and recover.
He also asserted that Egypt would be working tirelessly to work toward achieving the two-state, to bring peace to the region, and fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinians for an independent state. (end)
