Digital Media Training Program 'Digital Start' Wraps Up, Advancing Disability Inclusion
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, Oct. 8 (Petra) -- The Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has successfully wrapped up "Digital Start," an intensive training program designed to empower persons with disabilities by equipping them with modern digital media skills. The program was delivered in partnership with Madraj for Digital Media Entrepreneurship.
Over the course of the training, 12 participants with visual, hearing, and physical disabilities worked with nine expert trainers to build their knowledge of digital storytelling, content creation, and rights-based media approaches. The initiative aimed to not only develop their technical capabilities, but also amplify their voices in public discourse, both as citizens and as advocates for disability rights.
The program addressed the evolving nature of the digital media landscape, highlighting trends such as the shift in content consumption, the spread of misinformation, and the growing importance of multi-platform content strategies. Participants explored how to produce impactful digital content that resonates with diverse audiences, while also learning about monetization models, entrepreneurship, and adapting to different media environments.
Topics also included legal and digital safety awareness, such as data protection, cybercrime laws, podcast production, and sustainable content development. The goal was to equip participants with both creative and strategic tools to help them enter and thrive in the digital media space.
This initiative reflects the Council's broader strategy to promote inclusion by fostering local partnerships that open up professional opportunities for persons with disabilities, especially in media sectors where representation and authentic storytelling are vital for a truly inclusive society.
