Russian Attacks Cut Power To Consumers In Five Regions Ukrenergo

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook , according to Ukrinform.

"Yesterday and already today, Russia once again attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure. As a result, this morning there were outages in the Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions. The situation remains difficult in the Sumy region. In the Chernihiv region, the local distribution company was forced to introduce rolling outages in two stages," the statement reads.

Energy crews are doing everything possible to quickly restore equipment damaged by the enemy and reconnect consumers, but repair work is complicated by ongoing air raid alerts.

Electricity consumption also remains high, with demand this morning remaining at the same level as the previous day. This is due to cloudy weather in most regions, which reduces the efficiency of household solar power systems.

"Saving electricity remains essential. Please avoid using several high-power appliances at the same time during peak evening hours between 17:00 and 22:00," Ukrenergo said.

On the night of October 4-5, Russia carried out a combined missile-and-drone strike on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, damaging Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo equipment and facilities of the Naftogaz Group.

On October 6, Russian forces attacked energy facilities in the Donetsk region, and during the night of October 6-7, they struck the Sumy and Poltava regions. In the morning of October 7, Russian forces hit energy facilities in the Pryluky district, Chernihiv region, leaving more than 61,000 consumers without electricity.
