(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized the significance of self-improvement for Turkic nations during his address on Monday.

Speaking with Azerbaijani media in the city of Gabala, on the sidelines of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Council of Foreign Ministers gathering, Fidan noted that the world is experiencing significant transformations, with geostrategic changes influencing every region, including the Turkic sphere.

He remarked, “But the institutionalization of the Organization of Turkic States and its increasingly coordinated actions make us more resilient to crises.

This is the institutional stance we jointly present.” Fidan highlighted that the growing organization and collaboration among Turkic states help them collectively withstand challenges.

Fidan underscored the importance of enhancing the economies, infrastructure, technological capabilities, defense systems, and fundamental services of Turkic countries as a means to reinforce each individual nation.

He explained, “When each strong state comes together, a stronger structure emerges. Therefore, as long as we continue on our current path, God willing, we will face a Turkic world more resilient to global crises,” adding that this topic will be a focus of discussion among leaders in Gabala on Tuesday.

Expressing his satisfaction with being in Gabala for the summit, Fidan stated: “We would like to extend our respects to (Azerbaijani) President Ilham Aliyev. We have been to (the capital) Baku many times, and all meetings have been held there, but introducing and hosting the leaders of the Turkic world in such a beautiful city is truly remarkable.”

He praised the choice of Gabala as a distinguished venue for this important meeting.

Finally, Fidan pointed out that Türkiye’s foreign policy prioritizes maintaining regional stability, emphasizing that achieving this goal necessitates several essential conditions to be met.
