Türkiye Plans Expanding Energy Collaboration with Kazakhstan

(MENAFN) The head of the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) announced on Thursday that Türkiye is on the verge of finalizing a fresh agreement to manage two additional oil fields in partnership with Kazakhstan.

During an interview with a news agency in Astana, where he participated in Kazakhstan Energy Week 2025, Ahmet Turkoglu emphasized Kazakhstan’s pivotal position in the worldwide oil and gas landscape.

He highlighted that TPAO recently inked a collaborative deal with KazMunayGaz, the state-run energy firm of Kazakhstan.

Turkoglu noted that exploration efforts are currently underway in Kazakhstan under the framework of this agreement.

He stated: “We are here to further our cooperation in this area and to make new agreements. We are preparing to sign a new contract for two fields in Kazakhstan."

Additionally, he remarked that Kazakhstan has started utilizing the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline—an infrastructure project of significant strategic value for Türkiye and neighboring regions.

"That pipeline will also be important for us when we enter new fields here," he added.
