Amman, Sept. 29 (Petra) – The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said nearly half a million Palestinians remain trapped within an area of less than eight square kilometers inside Gaza City under extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.
UNRWA spokesperson Adnan Abu Hasna wrote in a post on X on Monday that "around 70,000 people are crammed into every square kilometer in the southern areas of the Strip, where Israel is demanding civilians relocate despite the lack of the most basic means of life."
Abu Hasna stressed that "there is not enough space to set up even a single tent," warning that tens of thousands of families risk being left in the open without shelter or essential humanitarian services.
He called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and for urgent humanitarian aid access to affected areas, stressing that the situation "requires swift international action to save lives."
