MOI Foils Smuggling Large Narcotics Shipment Into Country

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior represented by the General Department for Combating Narcotics, announced the seizure of approximately half a million Captagon pills, 100,000 Lyrica capsules, and two firearms in the possession of two illegal residents.
In a press release Monday, the ministry said that the operation was launched following information received from a friendly country about the arrival of a large shipment of narcotics into the country.
The investigations resulted in identifying the recipients of the shipment, and it turned out that they had a history of drug offenses, it added.
The ministry affirmed that the operation reflects the readiness and high vigilance of the security forces, stressing that it will continue to firmly confront all attempts to smuggle narcotics into the country. (end)
