Seychelles To Have Runoff Election


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ALGIERS, Sept 28 (KUNA) -- Seychelles will hold a rerun presidential election after the country's two main contenders secured below 50 percent of the votes, the electoral authority said Sunday.
According to official results, the incumbent Wavel Ramkalawan gained 46.4 percent of the vote while opposition figure Patrick Herminie received 48.8 percent.
The runoff election will take place from Oct. 9-11, according to the electoral authority. (end)
