40 Families Affected As Bad Weather Hits Costa Arriba -

(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) Some 40 homes were affected by the bad weather recorded at the end of this week in the Costa Arriba of the province of Colón, especially in the community of Viento Frío, district of Santa Isabel. The rains, accompanied by strong winds, caused trees to fall and streams and rivers to overflow . In the community of Puerto Escondido, in the district of Cristóbal, a tree fell onto a power line, disrupting the power supply to area residents. The climatic phenomenon is due to the arrival of tropical wave number 32, which has caused unstable conditions throughout the Atlantic region.

The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) maintains constant surveillance in the affected areas, especially in riverbeds and streams, to prevent major incidents. For its part, the Colón Governorate, in coordination with national authorities and the Technical Board, is working to provide assistance to affected families. Authorities are urging the public not to cross swollen rivers, evacuate homes at risk of flooding, and seek refuge in safe locations while adverse conditions persist.
