I am Dr. Nuurrianti Jalli, an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice at the School of Media and Strategic Communications at Oklahoma State University. Prior to my appointment at OSU, I served as a faculty member at various educational institutions across the United States, Malaysia, and Indonesia. I earned my Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Ohio University and bring over 15 years of professional experience in strategic communications. My background includes roles as a communication strategist, resource person, and subject expert for renowned organizations like the Prime Minister's Office of Malaysia, Malaysia's Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, the United Nations, UNESCO, ByteDance (TikTok), Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, and the Brookings Institution. My work has been featured in publications including Reuters, The Conversation, the Oxford Reuters Institute of Journalism, Newsweek, the Jakarta Post, the South China Morning Post, CNA, and many others. My research interests span aspects of media studies, specifically Media and Democracy, Propaganda and Mis/Disinfo Studies, Media and Tech Policies, Media and Information Literacy, and Media and Information Warfare.
