Dubai Municipality enhances Emirati talent development and launches pioneering programmes at Ru’ya Careers UAE 2025

(MENAFN- Weber Shandwick) Dubai Municipality has unveiled a series of pioneering academic and professional training programmes designed to attract and nurture top Emirati talent, equipping them with advanced skills and expertise to lead the future of vital sectors. The announcement was made during the Municipality’s participation in Ru’ya 2025 – Careers UAE, held at Dubai World Trade Centre from 23 to 25 September 2025.

The new programmes form a central element of Dubai Municipality’s strategy to strengthen Emiratisation and develop national talent. By investing in human capital, the Municipality continues to provide a supportive and stimulating work environment that prepares a promising generation capable of driving innovation and shaping a sustainable future across sectors.
First VR-based food safety inspection programme

Dubai Municipality introduced the Food Safety Inspectors Programme using Virtual Reality, the first of its kind in the region. The programme enables participants to engage in real-life inspection scenarios in restaurants and kitchens, enhancing practical skills and preparing them for the challenges of food control. This milestone reflects Dubai Municipality’s commitment to deploying smart technologies to upskill talent, improve service quality, and reinforce the emirate’s food safety ecosystem.

Professional certificate in data analytics
The Municipality also launched the Professional Certificate in Data Analytics in collaboration with Rochester Institute of Technology – Dubai. The programme equips employees with advanced skills in data collection, analysis, and utilisation to support strategic decision-making, enhance efficiency, and advance Dubai’s digital transformation. Training combines theoretical knowledge with practical application tailored to the Municipality’s operational needs.

Commitment to Emiratisation
Azza Al Marzooqi, Director of the Human Resources Department at Dubai Municipality, said: “Emiratisation remains a key priority for Dubai Municipality. We strive to attract the best Emirati talent and introduce academic and training programmes that prepare them for the future of work. By fostering a culture of innovation and leadership, and by investing in human capital—the true wealth of the UAE — we are supporting national aspirations for a knowledge-based and sustainable economy. Ru’ya is more than a recruitment event; it is a platform to shape a brighter future, showcasing our commitment to empowering Emirati talent with the tools and technologies to meet tomorrow’s challenges.”

International accreditation
Dubai Municipality Academy has received official accreditation from NEBOSH, the global leader in health, safety, and environmental qualifications, as a Silver-level training provider. This recognition positions the Academy among the region’s leading institutions delivering internationally recognised training in occupational health and safety, underscoring its commitment to international quality standards.

Career guidance for the next generation
To further strengthen connections with youth, Dubai Municipality Academy launched the Career Lounge initiative. Designed for school and university students, the initiative offers career guidance and mentorship sessions led by municipal experts, introducing students to future career paths within Dubai Municipality’s diverse sectors. The interactive platform highlights the Municipality’s vital role in society and helps inspire a new generation to contribute to sustainable development, creativity, and social responsibility.

Ru’ya – Careers UAE serves as a national platform to empower Emirati talent by showcasing initiatives that expand knowledge, skills, and professional opportunities across government, semi-government, and private sector organisations.
