Poland Vows to Down Any Russian Aircraft
(MENAFN) Poland has declared it will shoot down any Russian aircraft or missile that enters its territory, Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski stated during an urgent UN Security Council session on Monday.
Earlier this month, Warsaw accused Moscow of intentionally sending at least 19 drones into Polish airspace, an allegation that Russia dismissed as “hysteria” fueled by the “European party of war.”
The most recent warning came during a meeting called by Estonia, another NATO member, which also charged Russia with breaching its airspace.
“You have been warned,” Sikorski remarked. “If another missile or aircraft enters our airspace without permission – either deliberately or by mistake – and gets shot down and the wreckage falls on NATO territory, please don’t come here to whine about it.”
In response, Moscow stated that “neither Warsaw nor Brussels need the truth.” Russian Deputy Ambassador to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, described the meeting as the second installment of the “blame Russia for everything” spectacle.
