Amman, Sept. 22 (Petra) – ALDahab Travel and Tourism, the general agent of Ethiopian Airlines in Jordan, held a ceremony Monday marking three years since the launch of flights between Amman and Addis Ababa. The event was attended by Wael Al-Rousan, Deputy Director-General of the Jordan Tourism Board representing the sponsoring Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, as well as several African ambassadors accredited to Jordan, at the Fairmont Hotel in Amman.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the ceremony highlighted achievements since the airline began operations in September 2022, including an increase in weekly flights from three to 12, strengthening Amman's role as a key hub linking the region to African countries and the wider world.
Lemma Yadecha Gudeta, CEO for Commercial Affairs of Ethiopian Airlines Group, said the three-year milestone reflects the depth of Jordanian-Ethiopian relations and enhances cooperation in tourism, trade, and cultural exchange. He noted that the presence of the airline's senior management in Amman for the celebration underscores Jordan's importance in the company's current network and future plans, with operations in the country experiencing significant growth over the past three years.
Mohammad Al-Jbour, General Manager of ALDahab Travel and Tourism, said the support from Ethiopian Airlines' senior management directly benefited the Amman hub, contributing to the gradual increase in weekly flights to 12.
He added that the past three years have strengthened ties between the peoples of Jordan and Ethiopia and facilitated travel between Jordan, the region, and the rest of Africa, expressing the company's ambition for further achievements in the coming phase.
