Pakistan Reports Over 20 Killed in Airstrike on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
(MENAFN) At least 22 people were killed in an airstrike on Monday in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, local officials and sources confirmed.
The airstrike targeted three homes in the Khyber district, according to anonymous sources speaking to media.
The casualties included 18 members of a single family and four others from two different households, the sources reported.
In the aftermath, a group of 40 to 50 protesters blocked a major road, while additional demonstrations erupted across the district under the leadership of various political and religious figures, witnesses said.
Local authorities stated that the situation was being closely monitored as tensions continue to rise in the region.
