Ukrainian Forces Gradually Push Russian Troops Back Near Dobropillia Military

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was announced during a television broadcast by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Dnipro Operational and Strategic Group of Forces, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

Responding to a question about whether Ukraine is currently able to build on its success in the Donetsk region and gradually regain control of territory in the direction of Dobropillia, Trehubov stated: "As of now – yes. The enemy has become somewhat overstretched in that area. There was a significant infiltration of Russian troops. These were small groups, but they regrouped and launched active offensive operations. About a month ago, they made a strong push forward, trying to seize as much territory as possible. However, since they lacked the capacity to effectively consolidate their gains, they are now being gradually pushed back by Ukrainian forces."

According to him, the Pokrovsk sector remains the most active front, with intense fighting ongoing, including Ukrainian counteroffensive operations. High levels of activity also continue in the Novopavlivka, Lyman, and Dobropillia sectors.

"Right now, it's hot and difficult everywhere. The Russians are maintaining pressure on Ukrainian positions both in the north - the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector - and in the east - the Toretsk and Kramatorsk sectors. So it's not accurate to say any area is quieter, but we can definitely say where it's loudest: Pokrovsk, Dobropillia, Novopavlivka, and especially Lyman (sectors – ed.)," the spokesperson explained.

As reported by Ukrinform, there were a total of 167 combat engagements between Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops on the front lines over the past day.
