Kuwait University Honors Researchers Awarded Patents From US Office

KUWAIT, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait University's Research Sector honored researchers who received patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, in recognition of their scientific efforts and research achievements that significantly advanced innovation and global knowledge production.
In a press statement issued Sunday, Vice President for Research, Dr. Abdullah Sultan, expressed his deep pride in the distinguished efforts of Kuwait University affiliates, affirming the university has always been a source of cultural and scientific illumination.
He emphasized that since its establishment, Kuwait University has upheld a pioneering role in diverse academic fields, enriching science while addressing vital social, economic, and technological issues, and serving as a hub where faculty and postgraduate students create innovative, practical solutions.
He further announced that Kuwait University successfully registered several patents during the 2024/2025 academic year, through its Intellectual Property and Patent Office, reflecting researchers' determination to achieve innovation aligned with global scientific standards.
Among the honored innovators, Dr. Khaled Al-Hazza and his mechanical engineering research team from the College of Engineering and Petroleum patented "UBoatIt", an automated marine vessel docking system, alongside another invention on vibrational guidance technology. (end)
