Senate Approves Michael Waltz as U.S. Envoy to UN

(MENAFN) The United States Senate on Friday approved President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Waltz, for the role of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
Waltz was approved with a 47-43 vote.

In March, Waltz faced criticism after he accidentally added Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of "The Atlantic" magazine, to a Signal messaging group where Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and other top-level officials were discussing “plans for an attack on Houthi targets in Yemen.”

At the beginning of May, Trump made public that he had selected Waltz as his nominee for the position of U.S. envoy to the United Nations.
