Integrating Mental Health Support at Work Drives 1.8x Higher Employee Engagement, Finds CII-MediBuddy Report 2025
(MENAFN- Adfactors PR) National, September 18, 2025 – MediBuddy, India’s largest digital healthcare company, is calling on employers to make mental wellness a core part of workplace culture after the CII–MediBuddy Workplace Health Reimagined 2025 Report revealed that 80–86% of Indian employees are struggling with stress, anxiety, or burnout.
The report highlights a sharp increase in mental health-related cases and a subsequent rise in help-seeking behaviour. Mental health-related outpatient (OPD) claims have risen 30–50%, indicating that employees are increasingly willing to access professional support. Furthermore, corporate adoption of mental health services has surged, with structured programmes reducing absenteeism by 20–25% and improving productivity by 6–8%.
The study further indicates that companies embedding wellness into their core policies are seeing 1.8x higher employee Net Promoter Scores (eNPS), a key metric of employee advocacy and satisfaction, making them 1.6x more likely to retain their top talent.
Dr Gowri Kulkarni, Head of Medical Operations, MediBuddy, said, “As workplaces evolve, it’s crucial that mental health conversations are normalised, not stigmatised. By embedding structured measures such as bundled OPD and therapy sessions, manager sensitisation programmes, digital-first mental health tools for 24/7 access, and regular pulse surveys, organisations can move from reactive interventions to proactive care. This creates psychologically safe workplaces where employees can seek help without hesitation, address stress early, and ultimately thrive both personally and professionally.”
As India Inc. adapts to a rapidly changing work environment, prioritising mental well-being is key to building a healthier and more resilient workforce. The CII–MediBuddy report emphasises that mental health must be seen as a continuous commitment rather than an episodic initiative. By encouraging open conversations, integrating support into everyday employee experiences, and creating safe environments, organisations can boost motivation and productivity amongst employees.
