Moscow: Security Council's Failure To Stop Israeli Aggression On Gaza Regrettable, Disappointing

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MOSCOW, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- The Russian Foreign Ministry on Friday described the United Nations Security Council failure to address Israeli occupation aggression in Gaza, as "regrettable and disappointing," also calling for an immediate ceasefire, release of prisoners, and restart the peace process.
In a statement on its website, the Ministry the inability of the Security Council to halt hostilities and end the suffering of civilians is regrettable, which requires a "just solution" to the Palestinian issue.
This statement comes in the wake of the Security Council's recent inability to adopt a ceasefire resolution, which was obstructed by a veto from the United States.
According to health authorities in Gaza, the conflict, which commenced on October 7, 2023, has resulted in a death toll of 65,174 individuals, with 166,071 reported injuries within the last 24 hours. (end)
