War Update: 63 Clashes On Frontline, Most Of Battles In Pokrovsk Sector

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided a report on the situation as of 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, on Facebook .

Artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation was directed at the border settlements of Arkhypivka, Bleshnia in the Chernihiv region, Simeikine, Bila Bereza, Romashkove, Shalyhyne, Malushyne, Khliborob, Rudenka, Novovasylivka, and Baranivka in the Sumy region.

Two combat clashes with Russian troops took place in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. In addition, the enemy carried out six air strikes, dropping 17 guided bombs, and carried out 68 shelling attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas, three of which were carried out with multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector , the Defense Forces repelled two Russian attacks in the areas of the settlements of Vovchansk and Fyholivka. One combat engagement is still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian invaders made three attempts to break through the Ukrainian military's defense lines in the areas of Stepova Novoselivka and Pishchane. One combat engagement is still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army carried out 10 attacks near the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, Torske, and toward settlements of Stavky, Novoselivka, and Serednie. Three clashes are still ongoing.

In the Siversk sector , the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack, with the aggressor being particularly active in the Vyimka area.

In the Kramatorsk sector , the invaders twice attempted to break through the defense lines of Ukrainian defenders in the Stupochky area.

In the Toretsk sector , the enemy carried out seven assaults in the areas of Shcherbynivka and toward Pleshchiivka and Rusyn Yar.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the Russian army made 25 attempts to advance in the areas of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Udachne, and Dachne. The Defense Forces are holding back the offensive and have repelled 21 Russian attacks, with fighting still ongoing in four locations.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy attempted to break through the Ukrainian military's defenses in the areas of the settlements of Filiia, Voskresenka, Berezove, Maliivka, Novoivanivka, and Olhivske. Defense Forces repelled five enemy assaults, and two more combat clashes are still ongoing.

In the Huliaipole sector , Russian troops did not conduct offensive operations but launched an air strike with unguided air missiles on Zaliznychne.

In the Orikhiv sector , the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces twice in the area of the settlement of Kamianske and toward Stepnohirsk. One combat engagement is still ongoing.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the Russian army twice unsuccessfully attempted to approach the positions of Ukrainian defenders toward the Antonivskyi Bridge. At the same time, the Russians launched an air strike on Olhivka.

There were no changes in the other sectors.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian troops in the Lyman sector continue their assaults and are constantly trying to expand their footholds, looking for weak spots in the Ukrainian defense.
