Zelensky, Lithuanian FM Discuss Joint Weapons Production Amid Rising Threats

“I met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys. This is his fifth visit to Ukraine in this role. I thank all the people of Lithuania for supporting Ukraine, as they have stood by Ukraine since the first days of Russian aggression,” Zelensky wrote.

According to the President, they discussed regional security and shared threats posed by Russia and Belarus, especially after the recent drone attack on Poland. They also focused on strengthening sanctions policy, joint defense production, participation in the SAFE instrument and PURL initiative, assistance with reconstruction, demining, education, and rehabilitation of the wounded.

“Lithuania has opened an office in Ukraine to coordinate these projects – and that is important. Thank you,” Zelensky noted.

Another key topic was the opening of the first negotiation cluster for Ukraine's accession to the EU.



The President added that Ukraine and Lithuania are preparing for the UN General Assembly and that their collective voice must be strong.

As reported, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Budrys recently announced that Lithuania's military aid to Ukraine this year will reach one billion euros.
