Environment Ministry Begins Practical Steps To Restructure In Line With Public Sector Modernization

Amman, Sept. 19 (Petra)-- In order to improve performance efficiency and the caliber of services offered to citizens, the Ministry of Environment announced the start of concrete measures to restructure the ministry. These measures include reviewing internal work procedures and streamlining the organizational structure.
Ayman Suleiman, the Environment Minister, made the announcement yesterday, Thursday, at a meeting that was attended by the Minister of State for Public Sector Development, Badria Al-Balbisi; Omar Arabiyat, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Environment; Fayez Al-Nahar, President of Civil Service and Public Administration Commission.; and Rabaa Al-Ajarmah, the Advisor for Institutional Development, Quality, and Performance Management.
In line with standard management practices, the meeting discussed the main elements of the restructuring plan as well as the methods for its implementation. Participants talked about a variety of strategies to lower operating expenses and improve expenditure effectiveness. Targeted industries' locations are shown on an environmental map, environmental monitoring and inspection procedures and licensing are integrated, services and digital transformation are digitized, partner ministries' roles are activated, and all government departments are connected.
Additionally stressed were the necessity of re engineering processes and services, conducting workload studies and connecting them to job competencies, and utilizing creative ideas that would alleviate the workload for workers and lower costs for people.
This step is in line with the goal of administrative modernization, which is to improve the government machinery and increase its efficiency, Suleiman stressed. According to him, the modernization process would involve a thorough examination of protocols, the simplification of processes, and the best possible use of human resources. In keeping with the state's vision for an adaptable and cutting-edge government apparatus that can handle escalating environmental difficulties, this will guarantee that the Ministry's goals of preserving the environment and protecting natural resources are fulfilled.
According to Al-Balbisi, the Ministry of Public Sector Development will offer complete technical and advisory assistance to guarantee the restructuring process's success and meet its goals of enhancing institutional performance.
