3-Day Domestic Product Exhibition Opens In Ghazni
GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A three-day exhibition of domestic products titled“Sultan Mahmood Ghaznavi” has kicked off in southern Ghazni province, aiming to promote local industries and boost market access.
Abdul Rahman Ahmadi, head of the Commerce and Industry Department, said the event was organized in coordination with his department and financially supported by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
According to Ahmadi, the exhibition features 60 stalls, including 45 run by men and 15 by women, showcasing a wide range of locally produced goods.
“Various companies have participated in this exhibition, and it will help promote domestic products and support their marketing,” he said.
Abdul Mateen Qalandari, head of the Ghazni Chamber of Commerce and Investment, noted that this is the second such exhibition in the past two years in the province.
However, he pointed out persistent challenges related to industrial parks, electricity, and marketing, calling on the government to address these issues.
Speaking at the event, IOM representative Maiwand Kochi emphasized the organization's commitment to supporting domestic companies, creating employment opportunities, and reducing migration through economic development.
Participants expressed satisfaction with the exhibition, saying it helps raise public awareness about local products and provides a platform for entrepreneurs.
“This kind of exhibition is crucial for introducing domestic goods,” said Mohibullah Khpalwak, one of the participants.“We have many local products, but due to lack of exposure, people often turn to foreign goods. Events like this can change that.”
Exhibitors also urged the government to increase taxes on imported goods to encourage the use of local products.
Last year, a similar exhibition titled“Afghanistan's Treasure” was held in Ghazni, where 110 factories showcased a wide variety of their products.
