Army Chief Meets NATO Special Representative For Southern Neighborhood

Amman, Sept. 17 (Petra)-- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Wednesday received NATO Secretary-General's Special Representative for the Southern Neighborhood, Javier Colomina.
They discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as enhancing cooperation in training, qualitative modernization, and the provision of advanced technologies across various branches and units of the Jordan Armed Forces.
Huneiti underscored the deep strategic partnership between the Jordan Armed Forces and NATO, highlighting continuous cooperation through the exchange of expertise and the strengthening defense and training capabilities, reflecting Jordan's commitment to its role as a key partner in maintaining regional and international security and stability.
For his part, Colomina commended Jordan's role in promoting security and stability, describing the Kingdom as a key partner in countering regional security threats and a cornerstone in supporting regional security and international cooperation against common challenges.
Colomina is visiting Jordan to inaugurate NATO's diplomatic liaison office in Amman following an agreement signed on June 12, 2025, to host the office and strengthen diplomatic communication and political dialogue between the Kingdom and the Alliance.
