Zachary W. Schulz is a public health historian whose work bridges the health humanities, systems thinking, and policy analysis. He holds a PhD in History from Purdue University, an Ed.S. in Adult Education from Auburn University, and an MPH in Health Promotion and Policy from the University of Missouri. Based in a history department, Schulz teaches and writes on the evolution of healthcare systems, veterinary medicine, and public health reform, with a sustained focus on access, equity, and structural power.

His work spans both academic and applied settings, and he regularly collaborates with public health agencies to address real-world challenges such as oral health equity in the U.S. South. Whether working with undergraduates, dual-enrollment students, or adult learners, Schulz is committed to preparing future leaders to critically examine how health systems are built-and who they fail to serve.
