Qatari Gov't Lauds Results, Historic Stances Of Doha's Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Sept 17 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Cabinet lauded on Wednesday the results and the historic stances which stemmed from the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha on Monday.
According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Cabinet commended the important remarks made by Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the opening of the summit held to address the grave consequences of the treacherous Israeli occupation's strike on Doha.
The attack not only showed the heinous nature of the Israeli occupation, but also reinforced its genocidal attitude not only towards the people of the Gaza Strip and Palestine, but the Arab world with the targeting of Doha, it added.
The summit resulted in sending a clear and direct message to the state of terror, the Israeli occupation, and the grand event reflected the solidarity of participating leaders through the final statement with the State of Qatar, the cabinet added.
It deemed the aggression as a clear violation against Arab and Islamic nations and a violation against a member state of the UN, Qatar. The cabinet indicated that the attack has grave consequences on regional and international stability as well.
The summit had commended the Qatari wise and civil response to the attack, reflecting a steady and stern stance on respecting international laws and norms, the cabinet added.
The Qatari Cabinet also took the chance to laud the outcome of the extraordinary session of the GCC Supreme Council also held on Monday and chaired by Sheikh Tamim, saying the final statement also expressed the GCC's utter condemnation of the Israeli occupation aggression and its violation of international law and the UN Charter.
The GCC will always stand with Qatar against any aggression, affirmed the cabinet, saying that the security and stability of Qatar are integral and important to all Gulf countries.
The Cabinet also renewed its welcome to the UNSC resolution last Thursday condemning the attack on the headquarters of the Hamas negotiating team in Doha, reiterating Qatar's commitment to mediation efforts in the region.
The Cabinet also reflected Qatar's welcome of the New York Declaration regarding the two-state solution efforts in the Middle East and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
It praised the Saudi-French efforts that led to the holding of an international conference in New York and the important declaration calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders and east Jerusalem its as capital. (end)
