Israeli Occupation Targets Al-Rantisi Hospital For Children In Gaza

RAMALLAH, Sept 17 (KUNA) -- Health authorities in Gaza reported on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation forces struck Al-Rantisi Hospital for Children late Tuesday night.
According to a press statement, the attacks targeted the upper floors of the hospital in three successive strikes, minutes apart. Authorities condemned the attack, describing it as part of a systematic policy aimed at disabling Gaza's healthcare system.
Al-Rantisi is Gaza's only specialized children's hospital, providing oncology, dialysis, and other critical services such as respiratory and digestive care.
At the time of the strikes, 80 patients were receiving treatment, including four children in intensive care and eight newborns in neonatal care. The bombing forced 40 patients and their families to leave in search of safety, while 40 patients, 12 intensive care cases, and 30 hospital staff remained.
In a separate statement, health authorities said the occupation deliberately blocks the World Health Organization's (WHO) efforts to deliver fuel to Gaza hospitals.
Palestinian health authorities said that preventing fuel deliveries for hospital generators risks a complete shutdown of services, threatening facilities including Al-Sahaba Medical Complex, the central oxygen station, ambulances, and other hospitals within days.
They stressed that halting the central oxygen station and ambulance services would create a severe health and humanitarian disaster and called on all relevant parties to intervene urgently to ensure safe fuel access for hospitals in Gaza. (end)
