Sarah is also Director of Spruce Retrofit Consulting. She works with the Government, BSI, Certification bodies, and other organizations to create domestic retrofit standards, guidance and training. She is a member of the Retrofit Steering Task Group set up after the Each Home Counts review and is the technical author for the PAS 2035/2030 retrofit standard. She has extensive experience in working with social housing associations, and the able-to-pay market to deliver new and existing homes that are healthy, comfortable and affordable. She is Director of Spruce Retrofit Consulting and Research Fellow at the Leeds Sustainability Institute.

Sarah has a wide range of research interests related to energy-efficient retrofit, particularly in houses. She is focused on thermal performance and moisture management in retrofit. and the development of innovative retrofit products including modelling and measurement of hygrothermal performance.
