UN Inquiry: Israel Committing Genocide In Gaza
The 72-page report, released by the UN Human Rights Council's Commission of Inquiry, marks the first time a UN body has directly accused Israel of genocide-calling it“the most authoritative UN conclusion to date.”
The commission determined that Israel's actions since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack-including mass killings, forced displacement, starvation, and the destruction of essential infrastructure-met four of the five acts defined as genocide under international law. It further cited statements by Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant as“direct evidence of genocidal intent.”
