Afghanistan Begin Trial Meat Exports
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MoAIL) has announced that Afghanistan begun exporting meat for the first time, starting with a pilot phase.
Maulvi Sher Mohammad Hatami, Director of Publications at MoAIL, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the trial phase of meat exports has officially commenced from the state-owned slaughterhouse in Balkh province.
He added that going forward, private companies will also be able to export meat from small ruminants-such as goats and sheep-to international markets, provided they meet the required standards.
