Doha Summit ... A Message Of Solidarity Against Israeli Aggression

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Sept 14 (KUNA) -- Assistant Secretary General and Supervisor of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, Ambassador Ahmad Rashid Khattabi affirmed on Sunday that the Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit scheduled to take place on Monday in Doha represents a message of solidarity aimed at halting Israeli aggression.
In a statement, Khattabi said the summit convenes at a time when Arab and Islamic public opinion is calling for a decisive response to the ongoing assault, within a supportive international climate marked by growing recognition of the State of Palestine during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He noted that these developments enhance momentum toward achieving a political horizon for the Palestinian cause based on a two-state solution within an atmosphere of peace, security, and stability.
Khattabi stressed that the evolving regional situation-particularly in light of positions expressed before the UN General Assembly endorsing the international declaration on a two-state solution, and the UN Security Council meeting following the Israeli occupation's attack on Qatar-reflects the increasing isolation of the occupying power in the international community.
He pointed out that after nearly two years of war on Gaza and its catastrophic consequences, the world has come to recognize the realities long obscured by the Israeli occupation's false narratives following the events of October 7, and described the UN General Assembly's vote in favor of the international declaration as a decision of both political and moral weight.
Khattabi added that the overwhelming support for the resolution, welcomed by the Arab League, constitutes a meaningful diplomatic achievement and a bold step by the international community toward ending the war on Gaza, as well as the ongoing acts of genocide, starvation, humiliation, displacement, and forced exile.
He emphasized that after eight decades of oppression of the Palestinian people and attempts to erase their national identity-now reaching an intolerable level with the catastrophe facing Gaza alongside repeated incursions and settlement schemes in the West Bank-the moment of decision has arrived to enable the Palestinian people to establish their independent state.
The Arab League official underscored the urgent need for a sustainable solution based on the two-state framework, away from extremist ideologies, expansionist ambitions, and outdated myths that ignore international norms, rules, and historical truths.
Khattabi also highlighted the broad international support extended to Qatar as recognition of the gravity of the blatant attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Arab state, as well as an acknowledgment of Qatar's trusted role in humanitarian efforts, mediation, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution across the Middle East and beyond-efforts that have cemented its well-deserved international standing.
Khattabi noted that Qatar played a big part in facilitating prisoner exchange operations in line with international humanitarian law, and praised Qatari diplomacy and efforts to carry out this difficult mission amid the destructive war, which has led to the collapse of public infrastructure and caused thousands of deaths, injuries, and casualties.
