The first deliveries of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to Kazakhstan's Air Astana are set for July 2026, Paul Wrigley, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Boeing, said at a meeting with a delegation from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport, Trend reports via the country's Ministry of Transport.

Meanwhile, the delegation from Kazakhstan met with representatives from Boeing, Airbus, and De Havilland within the framework of the Dubai Airshow in the UAE.

However, it was further emphasized that the delivery of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to Vietjet Qazaqstan (Qazaq Air) is anticipated for September 2026.

Additionally, Charbel Youzkatli, Vice President of Airbus, expressed the company's openness to exploring the establishment of a technical center in Kazakhstan and indicated a keen interest in expanding the country's cargo air transportation network.

Meanwhile, De Havilland disclosed its ongoing development of a new aircraft model tailored for regional air travel within Kazakhstan, taking into account the vast distances between the nation's cities.

As a key outcome of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's visit to the United States in early November, Air Astana and Boeing signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at renewing and expanding the airline's long-haul fleet, including the acquisition of 18 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
