Poland warns of future attacks following recent drone violations of its airspace
(MENAFN) Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk issued a strong warning on Thursday, saying Poland will respond “adequately” to any future attacks following recent drone violations of its airspace.
“Anyone who decides to attack Poland in any way will be treated adequately, as happened on the night of Sept. 10,” Tusk stated after a National Security Council meeting, according to reports.
He emphasized that Russia is responsible for the incidents involving Polish airspace and added, “We are more precisely identifying those who, whether for political reasons, stupidity or betrayal, serve Russian propaganda and disinformation.”
Polish authorities reported Wednesday that drones entered their airspace during overnight Russian-Ukrainian airstrikes, labeling the incident an “act of aggression.” Tusk said the drones were “Russian,” noting that 19 separate airspace violations were initially recorded.
Russia’s Defense Ministry denied intending to strike Polish targets, saying its operations were aimed at Ukraine’s defense industry facilities in the west. Moscow also expressed a willingness to discuss the situation with Warsaw officials.
