BIBF Concludes Ninth Edition of the Cambridge Islamic Finance Leadership Programme
(MENAFN- BIBF Leading Excellence ) Manama – 10 September 2025: The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), the leading provider of education and development in the region, in collaboration with the Cambridge Institute of Islamic Finance (Cambridge IIF) and with the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) as a contributing partner, concluded the ninth edition of the Cambridge Islamic Finance Leadership Programme (IFLP), which took place in August at the historic Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge.
The programme - supported by the Labour Fund “Tamkeen” - brought together more than 40 senior executives from 15 countries worldwide, including chief executive officers, chairpersons, and international experts, alongside 21 globally recognised speakers in Islamic finance and sustainability. The event featured panel discussions, advanced workshops, and applied case studies, in addition to capacity-building activities and networking opportunities for participants to exchange experiences and insights.
On this occasion, Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer of the BIBF, stated: “We are proud to conclude the ninth edition of the Cambridge Islamic Finance Leadership Programme, which reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening its position as a global hub for Islamic finance. The programme provided participants with a unique opportunity to engage with international leaders, gain practical expertise, and acquire new knowledge that will enhance their ability to lead the sector towards greater innovation and sustainability.”
On his part, Dr. Rizwan Malik, Head of the Islamic Finance Centre at the BIBF and Programme Director, highlighted the success of this year’s edition through the active engagement of participants with international speakers and experts, adding: “The programme served as a comprehensive platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences, while contributing to the development of a strong professional network among Islamic finance leaders from around the world.”
It is worth noting that the Cambridge Islamic Finance Leadership Programme is recognised as one of the world’s leading initiatives for developing executive talent in the Islamic finance sector. Since its launch in 2013, it has trained hundreds of leaders from more than 35 countries. The programme’s organisation is aligned with Bahrain’s national strategy to build distinguished human capital capable of supporting the growth and competitiveness of the Islamic finance sector at both the regional and international levels.
