India And Israel Seal Landmark Bilateral Investment Pact

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) India and Israel have signed a landmark bilateral investment pact in New Delhi, aimed at boosting joint investments, strengthening strategic ties, and expanding cooperation across key sectors.

The Ministry of Finance announced on Monday that India and Israel have signed a bilateral investment agreement, described as a milestone in their economic and political partnership.

The accord was signed in New Delhi on Monday, September 8, by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her Israeli counterpart Bezalel Smotrich, marking a significant step forward.

In a statement, the Finance Ministry called the agreement“a historic move,” noting that it could raise joint investments well beyond the current level of USD 800 million.

At the signing ceremony, Israel's Finance Minister stressed the need to expand cooperation in cybersecurity, defence industries, innovation, and advanced technologies, areas of growing strategic importance.

India and Israel have steadily strengthened ties in recent years, extending beyond trade to military collaboration, technological innovation, and agricultural partnerships. Both countries view the pact as a step towards deeper integration.

Officials in New Delhi underscored that the agreement reflects India's broader strategy of expanding strategic partnerships with key allies, particularly in technology and security domains.

Analysts suggest the deal could not only boost bilateral investment but also enhance India and Israel's standing in the evolving global economic and security landscape.
