Awqaf Ministry Launches 'AI Live Fatwas' Service On Islamweb
Doha, Qatar: In a milestone reflecting its continuous commitment to leadership in government services, and in line with its efforts to integrate modern technology with the authenticity of Islamic scholarship, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim yesterday inaugurated the“AI Live Fatwas” service on the Islamic network“Islamweb,” which is affiliated with the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance.
The launch ceremony was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry H E Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, assistant undersecretaries, a number of department directors, heads of sections, and ministry staff. The launch of the“AI Live Fatwas” service comes as part of the Ministry's commitment to align with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy.
The launch of the“AI Live Fatwas” service by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs responds to the growing public demand for immediate and accurate Shariah-based answers. It leverages integration with the network's vast archive, which contains hundreds of thousands of diverse fatwas, while also providing the possibility of direct communication with a specialised team of Islamic scholars.

This service employs artificial intelligence technologies to deliver a seamless experience that enables instant interaction and highly accurate results, while strictly adhering to Shariah guidelines and ensuring rigorous scholarly oversight of its outputs.
This achievement reflects the Ministry's ongoing efforts to develop its diverse services and its determination to achieve full digital transformation by 2030.
The initiative represents an innovative system serving both religion and humanity, strengthening intellectual security, and reinforcing moderation and balance. The launch of the“AI Live Fatwas” service marks a turning point and a pioneering model in employing artificial intelligence to serve society, providing fast and reliable access to authentic Islamic knowledge, while facilitating digital utilisation of Islamweb's rich archive of verified fatwas.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Director of the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance Jassim bin Abdullah Al Ali, emphasised that this initiative represents a qualitative shift in the history of Islamic fatwas.
He stressed the Ministry's keenness to enhance Islamweb's continuous mission and support it with all available tools and technological innovations to fulfil its scholarly and cultural role of spreading authentic Sharia knowledge and facilitating access to fatwas.
He described the new service as a modern bridge between Islamweb's audience and the scholars who provide fatwas, achieving a significant leap in real-time interaction and scholarly accuracy, while commending the Ministry's commitment to combining innovation with fidelity to authentic methodology.
Al Ali added that the true value of this achievement lies in its far-reaching impact on local, regional, and global communities, as it helps raise religious awareness, facilitates access to correct Sharia rulings from trusted sources, and strengthens public confidence in scholarly authority, under the care of the Ministry and the support of the General Directorate of Endowments.
