Zayed Charity Run Debuts In Rio's Copacabana Beach
The first edition of the Zayed Charity Run was held in 2001 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It is named after the Gulf nation's founder, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, with the aim of promoting charity and care for people with chronic illnesses. Annual editions are held in cities such as Cairo, Egypt, and New York, United States. Starting this year, Miami, U.S., will also host its own version of the race.
According to the event's organizers, all proceeds from registrations in Rio de Janeiro will be donated to nonprofit RioSolidario and its health, education, and social inclusion projects. Registration costs BRL 99 [USD 18] and includes a kit with a T-shirt, bag, notebook, cap, bottle, and a pair of socks. All participants who complete the course will receive medals, and two airline tickets to Dubai, UAE, will be raffled off. More information is available here . Registration can be done at this link .
