Mission North Expands Into Public Affairs

SAN FRANCISCO - As organizations face heightened scrutiny from both government and the impact of AI, tech-focused Mission North has launched a public affairs practice to help clients manage regulatory, policy and stakeholder challenges.
The new practice expands Mission North's corporate affairs offering and is led by Emily Field, senior director and head of public affairs. Field brings public sector and policy communications expertise from her previous role at RH Strategic in Washington, where she advised federally funded research institutions, workforce development organizations and the policy and government affairs arms of technology, cybersecurity, healthcare and education groups.
“Policy and stakeholder engagement is a new competitive battlefield,” said Mission North co-CEO Bill Bourdon.“Splitting corporate, product and policy communications across multiple specialty shops - or parking it all at a global agency - creates friction and forces brands to choose between specialization and scale.”
Field will lead the new practice in partnership with Bourdon, executive VP and head of growth Meghan Gardner, and senior VP Courtney Chennells.
Mission North's public affairs services include strategic counsel, targeted stakeholder campaigns, policy content and messaging, engagement with community leaders and advocacy groups, legislative analysis, and support for congressional testimony.
The corporate affairs and public affairs group is projected to grow more than threefold this year, reflecting demand from clients in AI, energy and infrastructure, cybersecurity, financial services, life sciences and healthcare.
