This ceremony represented a significant step in efforts to honor the memory of those who fell in the invasion and advance the process of historical healing for family members and friends. According to a statement, the event began with a spiritual reflection led by Pastor Héctor González of the Hosanna Apostolic Community, followed by a message from Engineer Trinidad Ayola, president of the Association of Relatives and Friends of the Fallen of December 20, who highlighted the importance of this work in honoring the victims and their families.

Representing the commission were its president, Rolando Murgas Torrazza, and Reverend Father Eusebio Muñoz, who reiterated the organization's commitment to the identification and dignified return of the victims' remains. Bonilla Terrero's remains were handed over to his widow, Neribel Mojica, accompanied by her daughter and other relatives. Senior Prosecutor Geomara Guerra Miranda, of the Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office's Discharge Section, also attended the event in support of this process.
