Elderly Man And Child Injured In Russian Shelling Of Kupiansk


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) As reported by Ukrinform, the Kharkiv Regional Police Department said this in a statement on Telegram .

“Yesterday, the occupiers shelled the Bohodukhiv, Izium, and Kupiansk districts. Russian forces used glide bombs, MLRS, and various types of drones against civilians. Civilian infrastructure was damaged and destroyed. In Kupiansk, a man and a six-year-old child were injured in the attacks,” the statement reads.

According to Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Head Oleh Syniehubov, a 58-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman from Kupiansk also sought medical assistance after sustaining injuries on September 6.

Regional authorities reported damage to private homes in the village of Starovirivka in the Kupiansk district, and to an apartment building in Kupiansk. Residential areas were also damaged in the city of Izium, the village of Horokhovatka in the Izium district, and the village of Tymofiivka in the Bohodukhiv district.

The Kharkiv Regional Emergency Service reported that firefighters extinguished six fires caused by Russian shelling in the Lozova and Izium districts. Most were vegetation fires in local ecosystems. In Izium, the roof of a private home also caught fire, covering an area of one square meter. Three forest fires were recorded in the Izium district, affecting a total of 14.8 hectares.

As previously reported, on the night and morning of September 7, Russian forces targeted vehicles, homes, and a television tower in the Kupiansk district using FPV drones and Shahed UAVs. In the settlement of Kivsharivka, two people were wounded.
