Italy Clinches Second FIVB World Championship
(MENAFN) The Italian Women's National Volleyball Team on Sunday secured their second championship by overcoming Türkiye 3-2 in the 2025 FIVB Volleyball World Championship final, held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Italians triumphed in a five-set showdown (25-23, 13-25, 26-24, 19-25, 15-8) against Türkiye in the decisive match.
Making their debut in a final, Türkiye earned the silver medal.
Paola Egonu led Italy to victory, contributing 22 points.
For Türkiye, Melissa Vargas stood out as the top scorer with 33 points.
In the contest for third place, Brazil defeated Japan 3-2 (25-12, 25-17, 19-25, 27-29, 18-16) to capture the bronze medal.
