Russia Attacks Energy Facility In Kyiv Region

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine's Ministry of Energy confirmed the strike on the country's energy infrastructure. A thermal generation site in the Kyiv region came under heavy fire.

“The goal is clear-to inflict even greater hardship on Ukraine's civilian population, to leave homes, hospitals, kindergartens, and schools without light or heat. Power generation facilities, transmission and distribution systems, and gas infrastructure are not military targets. The enemy fully understands it is striking critical civilian infrastructure,” the ministry emphasized.

Rescue workers and energy crews are currently working to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

“We are doing everything possible to stabilize the situation as quickly as we can,” the ministry assured, adding that any changes to the energy supply will be communicated in a separate update.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian air defense forces were active in the Kyiv region during the Russian drone attack.
