Italy Conquers Türkiye in 2025 Women’s Volleyball World Championship


(MENAFN) The Italian Women’s National Volleyball Team secured their second world championship on Sunday, edging out Türkiye in a nail-biting 3-2 victory at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball World Championship final in Bangkok, Thailand.

Italy triumphed with set scores of 25-23, 13-25, 26-24, 19-25, and 15-8, overcoming Türkiye in a tightly contested battle.

Making their debut in the championship final, Türkiye earned the silver medal in a historic run.

Paola Egonu was instrumental in Italy’s success, delivering a crucial 22 points.

For Türkiye, Melissa Vargas stood out as the top scorer, amassing an impressive 33 points.

In the fight for third place, Brazil defeated Japan 3-2 (25-12, 25-17, 19-25, 27-29, 18-16), claiming the bronze medal.
