White House prepares to showcase UFC mixed martial arts event

(MENAFN) The White House is preparing to stage a historic UFC mixed martial arts event on its South Lawn next year, according to reports.

Initially scheduled for July 4, 2026, to coincide with the United States’ 250th Independence Day celebrations, the event has reportedly been shifted to June. Plans also include several days of fan-centered festivities along the National Mall.

UFC President Dana White recently met with US President Donald Trump at the White House and left with approval for the showcase. “The White House fight is on,” White announced on social media after the meeting, which also involved Trump’s daughter Ivanka, known for her interest in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and the UFC.

The multi-day spectacle is expected to feature a full slate of men’s and women’s fights, with weigh-ins and a press conference scheduled to take place at the Lincoln Memorial.
