Alvin Thomas, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Human Development and Family Studies and the Phyllis Northway Faculty Fellow at the School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a clinical psychologist and the founder and host of the multi-award-winning Black Fatherhood Podcast with Dr. Alvin Thomas. A member of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine's child well-being forum, and an award winning psychologist Dr. Thomas' research is focused on children, fathers, and their families and communities, addressing three issues through an ecological lens (a) positive youth development, (b) fatherhood and parenting, and (c) the impact of race and discrimination.
