(MENAFN- UkrinForm) He announced this on Facebook following a comprehensive meeting dedicated to the development of this area, Ukrinform reports.

“We are creating a layered system to counter enemy Shaheds and Gerans. Our joint task is to form more crews, train more interceptor operators, and provide them with more effective strike systems and radars,” the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

Syrskyi reviewed reports on the effectiveness of UAV interceptor units, the current and future supply of different types of drones, improvements in countering strike and reconnaissance UAVs, and existing problems with proposals for their resolution.

He stressed that air defense is a priority for the state, the Armed Forces, and personally for him as Commander-in-Chief,“because the effectiveness of our 'anti-Shahed' system and the reliability of missile defense determines the security of the Ukrainian rear.”

“Therefore, we continue selecting personnel for UAV interceptor crews and are forming new regular units,” he added.

Following the meeting, Syrskyi issued tasks to eliminate shortcomings and strengthen work in the UAV interceptor area.

“It is important that the unity of Ukrainians continues to support our combat operations,” Syrskyi emphasized.

As reported, Syrskyi also discussed the frontline situation and the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces, General Fabien Mandon.
