Lecturer Neuroscience, PhD student collaborative reasoning,
The University of Melbourne
I teach and develop education at the Department of Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Melbourne. My main areas of expertise are interdisciplinary education (I've co-authored several handbooks on this topic with Amsterdam University Press), collaborative reasoning (I've recently started a PhD in this field at Unimelb and I teach critical thinking to elite sport coaches in the Netherlands and in Australia) and cognitive neuroscience (I was involved in a project researching how stress affects mental disorders at the Mental Health Research Institute - currently The Florey). The neural and cognitive correlates of stress was also the topic of a popular science book I wrote in the Netherlands, titled 'Stalen Zenuwen' ('Nerves of Steel - how athletes perform under pressure').
